Spider veins (telangiectasias) are red, bluish or purple veins. They can result from sun exposure, oral contraceptives, hormone therapy, the aging process, or heredity. For years telangiectasias had to be covered with makeup or simply tolerated, but now they can be easily treated with laser therapy.
